Move A1 — Scope
What this policy covers
This policy describes how the mobile game Teoiko Hex ("the app", "the game") handles information. It applies to the app as published by Olivia Griffin and to nothing else — it does not cover websites, app stores or other products that merely link to the game.
In plain terms: Teoiko Hex is a self-contained puzzle game. You tap an arrow block, it slides along its direction until it leaves the board, and you plan the order so every block clears. None of that requires us to know who you are, so we don't ask and we don't find out.
Move A2 — Local data
Information stored on your device
To let you stop mid-puzzle and come back later, the game writes a small amount of data into its own private storage area on your phone or tablet:
- Level progress — which puzzles you have cleared and which board you were last on.
- Board state — the current position and direction of the remaining blocks, so an interrupted puzzle resumes exactly as you left it.
- Move history for undo — a short list of your recent taps, kept only while the puzzle is open.
- Preferences — sound and haptics on or off, and any accessibility or visual options you choose.
This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to us, it is not readable by other apps, and it contains no name, email address or identifier that points back to you. Deleting the app removes it.
Move A3 — Not collected
What the game does not do
We want this section to be blunt, because "we may collect" language in other policies often hides a great deal. Teoiko Hex does not:
- ask you to register, sign in or connect a social account;
- embed advertising, ad mediation or attribution SDKs;
- embed third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs;
- collect your contacts, photos, calendar, microphone or camera;
- request or read your precise or approximate location;
- build an advertising profile, or sell or share personal data with anyone for advertising purposes;
- use cookies or web trackers — there is no in-app browser or web view used for content.
No profile exists. Because the game never creates an account or a persistent user identifier, there is no player record on our side that could be looked up, exported, breached or sold.
Move A4 — Platform
Your app store and operating system
You obtained Teoiko Hex from an app store (for example Google Play or the Apple App Store). That store, and the operating system on your device, are run by companies independent of us and they process some information as part of distributing and running any app — for example download and installation records, purchase or refund records if applicable, aggregated country-level install counts, and any crash or performance statistics the platform itself gathers when you have opted in to share them with the platform.
We may see aggregated, non-identifying summaries in the store's developer console — for example "so many installs this week" or an anonymised crash trace with a device model attached. We cannot identify an individual player from those reports, and we do not attempt to. The store's own privacy policy governs that processing; please review it in the store app.
Move A5 — Correspondence
If you email support
Writing to olivia.griffin82@gmail.com is entirely optional, and it is the only route by which we would ever hold personal information about you. If you do write, we receive whatever you send: your email address, your name if you sign it, and any details you include about your device or the puzzle you are stuck on.
That correspondence is used only to answer you. It is not added to a mailing list, not used for marketing and not passed to third parties. We keep support threads for as long as needed to resolve the issue and to recognise a follow-up, and then delete them; you can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.
Move A6 — Permissions
Device permissions and connectivity
Teoiko Hex is designed to run without runtime permissions. It does not need network access to generate or validate puzzles — the boards and the sliding logic are computed locally, which is also why the game works in flight mode.
If your platform shows a permission prompt for something like vibration or notification delivery, it relates to a comfort feature you can decline or switch off later in the game's settings; declining does not limit the puzzles available to you.
Move A7 — Children
Children and family use
Teoiko Hex contains no chat, no user-generated content, no social features, no advertising and no purchases of loot or currency, which makes it broadly suitable for family play. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because the game collects none in the first place.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete that correspondence promptly.
Move A8 — Rights
Your rights over your data
Privacy laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR and comparable regimes give you rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability. Those rights apply to personal data a controller actually holds.
- Game data: already in your hands. You can inspect it through your device's app-storage tools, reset it from the game's settings, clear the app's data through your operating system, or uninstall the app to erase it completely.
- Support emails: the one category we might hold. Write to us and we will tell you what we have, correct it, or delete it.
There is no third category, because there is no server-side account. If you are in the EEA or UK you may also complain to your national supervisory authority.
Move A9 — Changes
Updates to this policy
If a future version of the game introduces something that changes this picture — an optional cloud save for your progress, say, or a leaderboard — we will update this policy before that feature ships, revise the effective date at the top, and describe the change in the app store release notes. Material changes will also be surfaced inside the app.
Continuing to use the game after an update means you accept the revised policy; if you would rather not, you can uninstall at any time and your local data goes with it.
Board cleared — questions welcome
If any part of this policy is unclear, or you want confirmation about a specific data point, contact Olivia Griffin at olivia.griffin82@gmail.com. We answer privacy questions in plain language and usually within a few working days.
